Screaming

Why can’t they hear it?
Or they’re being  polite, pretending not to?
Or they’re stone deaf from too much listening!
	You hear it, don’t you?
Maybe you don’t either.

Let’s copy them, let’s play conversation.
We do so treasure our parts of speech, don’t we,
and our timely punctuations, 		
and all their cunning ways.
	But you hear it, all right,
screaming its head off?
